Form the Arbois – Pupillin AOC, Jura region of France. Light, ruby – purple colour. Red currant and cherry, red plum and raspberry, floral – spice – white pepper, earth – wet clay – forest floor. Light and fresh with subtle – soft – chalky tannins and limestone nuances surfacing from underneath the just ripe fruit core. Blood orange accents on its finish. Delicate, idiosyncratic Pinot. Even better and showing brighter – spicier if slightly chilled. Enjoyed it with pan fried calf liver over polenta and blanched – butter sautéed fiddleheads. Private order.
